The British progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator was founded in 1967. The group probably had its most formative time in the 1970s with the music label Charisma. Until their temporary separation (one of many in the band’s history) Van der Graaf Generator released eight albums on Charisma. These records, as well as a selection of previously unreleased songs and remixes, will be released on September 3rd, 2021, completely remixed in a heavyweight 20-disc box set. There are also three Blu-Rays on which all concert recordings and promotional films of the band are collected.
Van der Graaf Generator can look back on over 50 years of band history
The band itself was also involved in putting together the box and the new mixes in stereo and 5.1.
In addition to releasing all of their early works, Van der Graaf Generator have announced a European tour for next year. However, the band will start with a performance at the Beautiful Days Festival in August 2021. A historic comeback – the last UK festival appearance was over 40 years ago. “The last UK festival we played was Reading ’76,” says drummer Guy Evans.
The Charisma Years 1970-1978 box, as well as the albums „H to He Who Am the Only One“, „Pawn Hearts“, „Godbluff“ and „Still Life“ as 3-Disc Special Editions, will be released on September 3rd, 2021.
