The transfer of the winger from the Swiss champions to the relegated German Bundesliga does not take place, the deal has broken, as “Bild” first reported. The required fee of five million euros for the 27-year-old was too high for Werder.

In addition, the Champions League participant cannot find an adequate replacement for the Swiss national player shortly before the end of the transfer phase. Young Boys sports director Christoph Spycher had already announced on Sunday before the game against Basel (1: 1) at “blueSport” that Fassnacht “will certainly play for us in the next games”.

The professional himself agreed with Bremen, but will now continue to play in Bern. However, it was agreed between the players and SV Werder that a new attempt at a change would be made in winter, then negotiations should be renewed.
