Tiguan 2022, a facelift to catch up

The renewal of the Volkswagen Tiguan has already been expected for months, we even managed to test the previous design line last week, but now in the 2022 model year it arrives with new vigor before a panorama that, although it is successful for this SUV We will see how much it affects its production and delivery times to the customer due to the shortage of chips that afflicts all brands worldwide.

For now, this renewal of the second generation continues to be manufactured at the Puebla plant, with interesting exterior changes that begin in the light kit with LED headlights accompanied by a larger grill and that aligns with the current design language of the German brand. The fascia has important changes in the lower part, with the presence of material in chrome and glossy black, also depending on the version you can have roof rails and even order them in black.

On the side we see the design change in the wheels, which also depending on the version you can choose between 17, 18 and 19 inches in diameter. And in the back the changes were subtle but you can see that redesign in the fascia and skulls to give a fresher touch to the exterior.

Inside it boasts new colors and a rearrangement in the buttons, as well as a 10.25-inch cluster screen and another 8-inch touchscreen on the central dash with access to connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the available Wireless App Connect. from the Comfortline version.

Safety is provided by 6 airbags, ABS systems for braking and stability control, as well as a reverse camera, adaptive cruise control, blind spot and forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking.

The engine range corresponds to a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder block with 150 HP and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission (DSG) and front-wheel drive. While the top version has the 2.0-liter, turbo engine, with 190 HP and 236 pound-feet of torque, coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission (DSG) with all-wheel drive.

The prices and versions are for the Trendline Plus 1.4 TSI in 548,900 pesos; Comfortline 1.4 TSI at 618,990 pesos; R Line 1.4 TSI at 679,290 pesos and the R Line 2.0 TSI at 749,590 pesos.
