ICA Fluor points out people outside of organizing protests
In a bulletin, the ICA Fluor company assured that it complies with the “employer, salary, social, physical and comprehensive security obligations” of the workers and in accordance with what was agreed with the union.
And in contrast to the SSPC, he asserted: “Security elements of the National Guard and the Secretary of the Navy guard the federal facilities to protect the workers against the protests and provocations that have been presented, organized by some unidentified people nor recognized in the collective bargaining agreement with the company “.
Regarding the labor dispute, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, responded this Wednesday that it is about a conflict between unions who dispute the ownership of contracts. And in addition, he affirmed that the work stoppage is momentary.
With a cost of about 8,900 million dollars, the refinery is one of the main works of the López Obrador government, in addition to the rehabilitation of the six already existing.
The president seeks to strengthen the state oil company Pemex and promote projects such as this refinery in Tabasco in order to achieve energy self-sufficiency.
But this refinery, as well as the new capital airport or the Mayan Train, have aroused criticism from opposition politicians and activists for their environmental impact and disproportionate concentration of the public budget.
