The mayor, Bettina Romero, reached an agreement with the Minister of Security of the Province, Juan Manuel Pulleiro, to increase controls and the police presence in the center and neighborhoods of the city.
Officials agreed to expand the number of police officers working in the microcenter, adding more than 100, to guarantee the safety of neighbors and tourists, in addition to seeking to prevent the settlement of sectors to inform them.
Thus, the controls will be intensified at the authorized fair points in the San Martín park; Beltrán passage, “La Salteñita” Fair and the Book Fair. There will be custody and presence of the security forces in the area of Plaza Francia on Avenida San Martín from Buenos Aires to Lerma. In this place the street vendors and manteros of the microcenter will be relocated.
The efforts of the forces will extend to the neighborhood fairs to guarantee security and support procedures that seek to stop unauthorized sale in public space.
The objective of the strategy is to seek a safe and orderly coexistence between citizens and sectors of the informal economy that interact in the city, thus guaranteeing the safety and organization of spaces.
