Rangnick will receive a contract with ManUnited until the end of May 2022. The former Bundesliga coach and functionary will then sign a follow-up contract for two years as a consultant. Corresponding reports on the English portal “The Athletic” coincide with kicker information.

Most recently, Rangnick was Head of Sports and Development at Lokomotiv Moscow. In the Bundesliga he coached SSV Ulm, VfB Stuttgart, Hannover 96, 1899 Hoffenheim, Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig. After the 2018/19 season he left Saxony and joined Red Bull as “Head of Sport and Development Soccer”. Before this season, Rangnick started his own business and started his job at Lokomotive in this role.

Manchester United split from coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the embarrassing 1: 4 last weekend at newly promoted Watford FC. First of all, long-time professional Michael Carrick was given the task of looking after the team. However, the Red Devils announced at the same time that they want to sign an interim coach until the end of the season. The new head coach of the English record champions will not be known until next summer.
