This Thursday, the Palmeiras Football Academy received an illustrious visit. It is the Uruguayan left-back Matías Viña, currently a Roma player and with a recent spell at Verdão.
Raphael Veiga, who is recovering from a muscle injury suffered in the game against Atlético-MG, recorded the reunion with the Uruguayan in the stories of Instagram.
Matías Viña played for Palmeiras between 2020 and 2021. In all, the side took the field 70 times for the club, with five goals scored, until he was transferred to Roma.
In the period in which he was at Verdão, Viña won three titles. The 2020 Paulista Championship, still under the command of Vanderlei Luxemburgo, in addition to the Libertadores and Copa do Brasil of the same, but finished in 2021 due to the pandemic, with Abel Ferreira as coach.
Palmeiras enters the field this Thursday. Verdão faces Atlético-GO, at Allianz Parque, at 18:00 (Brasília time), being able to open a three-point advantage in the leadership of the Brasileirão in case of victory.
