Small producers in Hueleco suffer millionaire losses after extensive power outage

Small producers from Hueleco, in San Pablo, Los Lagos region, lament millionaire losses in merchandise after a prolonged power outage. As reported, they lost hundreds of kilos of fruit and liters of milk, in addition to problems with electrical appliances, such as water pumps.

25 families in the rural sector of Hueleco are affected after starting at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday they began to experience a progressive drop in voltage, until they were left without electricity.

Finally, after repeated requests and the work of the electric Saesa, they managed to recover the service.

However, those affected they lost hundreds of kilos of fruit and liters of milk and they had problems with electrical appliances, such as water pumps.

According to the member of the Hueleco neighborhood council, Verónica Sáez, the majority of farmers are peasant families who have lost a series of supplies.


Sáez added that a year ago they faced the same problem for which the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuel requested the change of a transformer, since it connected them directly with an agricultural company in the sector.

The head of customer service, Pablo Jaramillo, regretted what happened and assured that the company is contacting the residents due to the accusations of damage and loss.

The cause of the supply cut, at the close of this edition, has not been reported.

Police personnel also attended the place, who investigated the existence of dozens of containers on the property of an agricultural company of the sector, who requested to install more electric generators, given the capacity they require.
