The seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago established an investigation period of 100 days in the case of lawyer Rodrigo Sotomayor, accused of appropriating $13 million from the Domingo Parra Corvalán de Coronel Education Corporation, for which they also ask that his title be removed of lawyer.

The seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago established an investigation period of 100 days in the case of attorney Rodrigo Sotomayor, imputed in a consummate degree and as the author of the crime of misappropriation of five checks from the Education Corporation Domingo Parra Corvalán de Coronel, for a total amount close to 13 million pesos.

According to complaint filed by the lawyer Remberto Valdés, the defendant illegally practiced the profession for the entity from October 2018 to June 2019, a time when he was not yet entitled, to later enter on January 7, 2020 as a partner and secretary of the Corporation .

Furthermore, according to the indictment, “he invented a false Board of Directors Session in which he appointed himself as president and appointed Moisés Fernández as secretary”, showing as support a letter of resignation from the incumbent María Elena Zott using her forged signature.

Lawyer Remberto Valdés indicated that he hoped that the justice would decide to strip Rodrigo Sotomayor of his professional title.


The defendant is also formalized by the Local Prosecutor’s Office of Concepción for crimes of forgery and malicious use of public and private documents, illegal exercise of the legal profession, fraud and prevarication.
