The rains do not stop! New tropical depression forms south of Jalisco and Colima

The National Weather Service (SMN) reported in its notice at 10:15 a.m. that the Tropical Depression “Nueve-E” south of the coasts of Jalisco and Colima, situation that will favor more rains.

The SMN indicates that the phenomenon is moving northwest parallel to the Mexican Pacific coast.

At the time of the communication, the system was 545 km south-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, and 585 km south of Playa Pérula, Jalisco, and was moving northwest at 20 km/h, with sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts of up to 75 km/h.


According to the dependency With waterthe wide circulation of tropical depression “Nine-E” It will reinforce the probability of very strong punctual rains (from 50 to 75 mm) in Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán and Guerrero.

The system will produce winds of 50 to 60 km/h and waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters in height on the coasts of the aforementioned states.

Authorities ask the population in general to take extreme precautions in the areas of the states mentioned due to rain, wind and waves (including maritime navigation) and to attend to the recommendations issued by the authorities of the National Civil Protection System, in each entity.
