Two minors under the age of 14 remained in provisional hospitalization accused of the homicide of a young woman hit by a crazy bullet in the town of Guacamayo de Valdivia.

In provisional hospitalization Two adolescents were charged for their alleged responsibility in the homicide of a young woman who was shot in the face in the middle of a shootout between rival gangs in the town of Guacamayo de Valdivia.

These are two 14-year-old adolescents who are being investigated for their alleged participation in the murder of Danitza Ávila, a 23-year-old who was shot at her home in the Guacamayo de Valdivia town while a confrontation between two rival gangs, presumably linked to drug trafficking.

The provisional internment was decreed by the High Court of the regional capital of Los Ríos after an appeal from the Prosecutor’s Office, since in the first instance the Guarantee Court had decided to leave both minors under house arrest.

The formalization of both was carried out last week, but from the Public Ministry they appealed to the precautionary measures, insisting on their internment in a Sename compound, to which the Court of Appeals agreed. This was indicated by the prosecutor José Rivas.

For this cause, a 44-year-old man is also in preventive detention, while two other suspects involved in the shooting remain fugitives from justice.
