Matías Leiva retained the South American super featherweight title « Diario La Capital de Mar del Plata

The man from Mar del Plata Matias Leiva he beat Juninense last night John Nicholas De Leon by points in unanimous decision after ten rounds and kept his south american crown of weight super feather in his first defense.

“El Distinto” Leiva prevailed with cards of 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 in the central fight of the evening at Club Social Brandsen, province of Buenos Aires.

The crown retained on Friday night was won on March 4 of this year with a divided victory against Nicolás Paz from Buenos Aires at the Enrique Mosconi Municipal Gymnasium in the Neuquén town of Cutral Co.

Leiva, 28, is also the World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight fedebol champion and number 4 in the national super featherweight ranking. With this victory, his professional record extended to Leiva 9 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw (1 KO).

In the semi-main event, the local Sol Baumstarh (5-6-1, 3 KOs) beat the Pampas Aixa Adema (4-9-5, 2 KOs), by points, in majority decision after ten rounds, and retained for the first time the South American light flyweight title.
