Liverpool with Luis Díaz, is crowned champion of the FA Cup, after beating Chelsea in the penalty shootout

London’s legendary Wembley stadium hosted the final of the oldest club tournament in the world, the FA Cup, between the Chelsea and the Liverpool of the Colombian Luis Díaz.

The Reds had the favoritism to reach the title, product of their very good moment, since they qualified for the Champions League final against Real Madrid and in turn is still in the fight for the Premier League with Manchester City.

The Colombian Luis Díaz was a starter in Klopp’s team and hoped to lift his second title since his arrival.

The match began and in minute 3 the first clear goal option was presented, where the Colombian overflowed through the left fringe, making a center inside the area that was not hit by Alcántara who came from behind.

About minute 8, Luis Díaz again received an excellent deep pass from Alexander-Arnold that left him hand in hand with Mendy who saved the peasant’s shot in a great way.

The first 10 minutes of the game were for the Reds who had Diaz as their most unbalanced player.

After 15 minutes of play, the Blues shook off a bit of the dominance that Liverpool presented, although they did not generate clear scoring options.

Only until the 22nd minute did Chelsea have the best chance of opening the scoring, after Pulisic received a very good pass that he finished off slightly wide of the left post of the goal defended by Alisson.

Five minutes later, the second clear arrival of the Blues, after Pulisic enabled Alonso who hit the ball on Becker’s body that drowned out the goal cry.

Close at 34 minutes, Mohamed Salah is injured, in his replacement entered the Portuguese Diogo Jota.

Belgian striker Lukaku came with an option but failed to define in the 40th minute, the match became even in the final minutes of the first half.

Liverpool responded at minute 44, after Robertson made a center to Diego Jota who finished over the Blue goal.

The first half ended, which left a match equal to zero goals, with clear situations for both elevenths who were low in effectiveness.

The second half started and at the minute of the game Chelsea surprised Liverpool, with a clear arrival that Pulisic could not materialize due to the very good save of Alison Becker.

The pressure from the London team continued, achieving a free kick that Marcos Alonso executed and crashed into the horizontal at minute 48.

At minute 50, Liverpool responded with a very good cross from Alexander-Arnold that Robertson could not define by sending the ball wide.

The Colombian appears again with a clear option at minute 52, after finishing off the ball outside the area, which went wide just over the vertical right of the goal defended by Mendy.

Diogo Jota at minute 60, had the opportunity to open the scoring for Liverpool, but his shot went wide.

In 80 minutes of the game, a very even game continued to be observed, although at times the game entered a low rhythm that was very disputed in the middle

At minute 82 Luis Díaz received a great pass from Mané whose shot hit the vertical left, immediately after, Robertson had the same luck from the Colombian but in this case the ball crashed into the vertical right of the goal defended by Mendy.

The 90 regulation minutes ended with a scoreless draw that forced an extension.

The penalty shootout gave Liverpool the title, which they celebrate already thinking about the Champions League final when they meet Real Madrid.
