Although she mainly focused on photography and art. It was Cronenberg’s work as a visual artist that convinced Sparaga that she was perfect for Human.

“His attention to detail, his rich compositions and his ability to convey deep emotion made him my first and only choice to direct Human. That she said yes to making this her feature debut is nothing short of a dream come true,” Sparaga said.

Caitlin Cronenberg isn’t the only crew member with a connection to the Elder Cronenberg. Doug Koch, director of photography on Future Crimes (2022), will also hold the same position on Human. After doing the same for Future Crimes and A history of violence, Dierdre Bowen is the casting director. Brian Garvey, the set designer, was artistic director of an episode of slasherbut not during Cronenberg’s season.
