And if Spider-Man : No Way Home canceled one of the most dramatic events in the movies Spider-Man ? What if Gwen Stacy wasn’t dead after all? In any case, this is a theory that several Internet users have been defending since the release of Jon Watts’ feature film almost a month ago.
!!! Spoilers de Spider-Man : No Way Home !!!
An amazing spider-man 3 to expect?
A month after its release, Spider-Man : No Way Home is still a hit in theaters and still monopolizes the attention of MCU fans. They were already having fun multiplying the theories before the release of the film, they are obviously not ready to stop. Now, the future of MCU and Spider-Verse is the subject of rumors and speculation of all kinds. Spidey lovers’ dearest wish appears to be Andrew Garfield’s return as Spider-Man within the MCU, in what could be a Amazing Spider-Man 3.
The first two parts, released in 2012 and 2014, had not met the critical and above all commercial success expected, pushing the production to never conclude the trilogy. A very sad decision, when we know that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ended with an even sadder event: the death of Gwen Stacy. It was this dramatic event that led Garfield’s Spider-Man to depression and violence for years, but it could simply have been canceled thanks to No Way Home.
A life saved thanks to the multiverse?
In Spider-Man : No Way Home, the supervillains of the films of Sam Raimi and Marc Webb are reunited In the world of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man following the upheaval of the multiverse, and quickly find themselves pitted against the three in a trio of Spider-Men. But the latter face an additional difficulty that they have imposed on themselves, since they wish to “heal” their enemies rather than kill them. Despite their numerical inferiority, they finally succeed in accomplishing their mission and sending the sweat villains back to their respective universes, chronologically before their final fight seen in the movies. against the Spidey of Tobey Maguire (for the Green Goblin, the Sandman and Doctor Octopus) and that of Andrew Garfield (for Electro and the Lizard).
But if the “bad guys” are no longer so bad and they are sent back to their own universe before their murderous duel against Spider-Man, then the events that follow must logically take a very different turn. Thereby, we can legitimately think that Gwen Stacy is not (more) dead at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2: A Hero’s Fate.
As a reminder, it succumbs to a long fatal fall from the top of a building, caused by Harry Osborn (the Green Goblin) in the final fight. But if this happens, it’s because she’s trying to help her beloved fight Electro. However, if the latter is no longer wicked, and the fight does not take place, Gwen no longer has any reason to climb to the top of the said building, thus not leading to her death. And in the event that she finds herself in a similar situation despite everything, then one can imagine that Electro comes to her aid.
Obviously, all this remains completely hypothetical. The theory is entirely plausible, however, and it’s up to Marvel Studios whether or not to go down that road or not. Otherwise, Gwen’s actress Emma Stone could have an even more interesting role to play!
