Marcela Montealegre has obtained 9 contracts with different state entities since her husband took office, according to an investigation by ’10AM Hoy por Hoy’, from ‘Caracol Radio’, which found that they have been assigned through the direct contracting modality and add up to a total of 653 million pesos.

The purpose of the contracts that Montealegre has obtained is to provide legal advice, as reported by the radio station. The Ombudsman’s Office, the Ministry of Culture, the Administrator of the Resources of the General System of Social Security in Health (ADRES), the Pension and Parafiscal Management Unit (UGPP), the Social Passive Fund of National Railways and the Mayor’s Office of Armenia are the entities that have contracted the services with Quintero’s wife.

“He has worked not only in this Government, but around the last three Government periods in different entities,” indicates Muñoz, who adds that “his resume is extensive and he has sufficient experience to perform the contractual objects in the entities in which is,” he said.
The investigation highlighted that the lawyer specializing in administrative law and that she has not hidden her relationship with Quintero at any time. In fact, he did report his marriage bond in his conflict of interest statement.
The woman, who was an advisor to the Ministry of Health during the government of Juan Manuel Santos, has contracted, since April 2020, 16 times with the State. Seven of these before Quintero took office.
In this case, contrary to what happened with Mrs. Vaquiro and her husband Mayorquín, Montealegre does report more experience in the field of public contracting and legal advice.
