Nipsey Hussle’s Family Opens Cannabis Store in Los Angeles

Nipsey Hussle’s family opened a licensed marijuana shop in Los Angeles called The Marathon Collective.

the family of Nipsey Hussle is opening a licensed marijuana store in Los Angeles called, “The Marathon Collective”. The store’s opening ceremony was held on Saturday at Canoga Park. Hussle’s brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedomtold CBS News that the late rapper always dreamed of opening a cannabis shop.

“Marijuana, a lot of times people went to jail,” Blacc Sam told the channel. “Once it started to legitimize, it was a goal… We have to get into it legitimately.” He added that Hussle “looked at it like alcohol during Prohibition. This is something he wanted – that we wanted. I am happy to be able to open it.” Blacc Sam also explained that opening the store “was good for the whole family”.

Hussle and his brother’s passion for marijuana was recently documented in “The Marathon Cultivation,” a short 35-minute film uploaded to YouTube in honor of the store’s opening. Speaking to CBS News, Blacc Sam also spoke about the family’s decision not to appear at the trial of Hussle’s alleged killer, Eric Holder.

“I will say I have someone there on our side,” Nipsey’s brother shared. “A lawyer kind of sends me feedback so I can stay on top of what’s going on day-to-day. My mom and grandma will ask me questions so I can give feedback.” The Marathon Collective is located at 7011 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA.

In 2020, Nipsey Hussle posthumously won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for his song “Racks In The Middle” with Roddy Rich and production of hit boy. He was featured on the 2020 album by Big Sean“Detroit 2”. Nipsey Hussle also participated in the tracklist of Judas and The Black Messiah. In 2021, it was announced that Hussle would be recognized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
