Josh Klinghoffer did not deserve to be fired from Red Hot Chili Peppers: Anthony Kiedis

Josh Klinghoffer’s departure from the Red Hot Chili Peppers was undoubtedly bittersweet news for fans of the group, although the deal included the re-incorporation of John frusciante; many still wonder what it was Klinghoffer he did wrong to be fired from the project. In fact, the experienced guitarist did nothing wrong that justified his departure from the RHCPas recently stated Anthony Kiedis.

As part of the release of his most recent album, ‘Unlimited Love‘, the set interviewed Clash Magazine and, among other things, they spoke again about leaving Josh Klinghoffer.

It was then that the vocalist anthony Kiedis confessed that he musician really didn’t deserve to be fired, but that the decision was due to a “latent need for change.” Besides, I assure you that, if it hadn’t been for him, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers they probably wouldn’t be together.

“There was nothing I did to deserve to be fired. He’s great, a wonderful human being to live with, and we wouldn’t be together today if it weren’t for Josh. There was a kind of psychic presence in the air.”

According to the members themselves (including Klinghoffer), fleebassist of the group, was living very closely with John Frusciant a year before their rejoining and, it was just in this period, that they both realized how much they missed playing together and the incredible chemistry that still prevailed between them.

“We both felt a powerful longing to play together and we had a very emotional connection on this one night, like a year before he came back, that felt beautiful and like a big shot to take. It was what had to be done.”

Then, Kiedis supplemented the argument by saying that when they met with Frusciant, they felt that all the personal problems they had had in previous years had found a way to repair themselves, to some extent. They realized that making music together was a stronger drive than their conflicts.

Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers prepare for the release of a new double album, ‘Return of the Dream Canteen‘; while Josh Klinghoffer continues playing with Pearl Jam.
