Ice Cube has confirmed reports that he missed out on earning $9 million by refusing to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
On the newest episode of this week’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, ice cube revealed that his refusal to be vaccinated forced him to lose a movie contract. “I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the fucking vaccine,” he shared, adding, “I turned down $9 million because I didn’t want to get the vaccine. Fuck that job and fuck you for trying to get me vaccinated. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”
ice cube then insisted he had “a lot up his sleeve” before quickly backtracking and saying he didn’t actually “turn down” the film and the $9 million, but that “I didn’t turn down [$ 9 milhões]🇧🇷 Those motherfuckers wouldn’t give it to me because I didn’t get the vaccine. I didn’t refuse. They just didn’t give it to me because of that,” explained the rapper, indicating that they were ‘forcing’ him to get vaccinated.
In October, it was reported that ice cube came out of Sony’s upcoming comedy Oh Hell No, in which he is said to have co-starred Jack Blackafter refusing a request from producers to be vaccinated. ice cube and black partnered on the project in June, and the Sony film was intended to shoot this winter in Hawaii with Kitao Sakurai in place of the director. The film has since delayed the start of production.
