7 Wizards and Witches Who Could Appear in the Agatha Harkness Series

After leading Wanda Vision, showrunner Jac Schaeffer will return to the Marvel universe with the spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Expected in 2023, this show will focus on Agatha Harkness, the wicked witch played by Kathryn Hahn in Wanda Vision. This spin-off will tell how Agatha will try to escape from the mental prison created by Wanda Maximoff at the end of Wanda Vision. Logically, the series should introduce fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to other famous wizards and witches from the Marvel Universe. So here are 7 characters, good or bad, who could make an appearance in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

1. Scarlet Witch

It’s the obvious of the obvious, but The Scarlet Witch could be making a comeback in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. We know that the famous magician finds (supposedly) death at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but a return is clearly not to be excluded. Regularly, Marvel Studios brings back to the front of the stage characters who have previously died. Vision, Black Widow, Red Skull, the list is long and can only grow.

Moreover, it is difficult to imagine an Agatha Harkness story without Wanda Maximoff. If the purple witch breaks free, she will most definitely want revenge on the scarlet witch. And then, between us, we don’t think that the Scarlet Witch arc will really end with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

2. Nicholas Scratch

So yes, this character is not really known to the general public. Created in 1977 by Len Wein and George Pérezthis powerful wizard is none other than Agatha Harkness’ son. In the comics, the latter is on the side of the good guys, and has often been the nanny of the children of Reed and Sue Richards. Nicholas Scratch quickly became a supervillain who often battled his own mother. Nicholas Scratch had his powers taken away by his own mother. This son stripped of his magical abilities is therefore become a follower of Dormammu, in hopes of becoming a powerful wizard again.

Series Wanda Vision also offers a discreet reference to Nicholas Scratch. Indeed, the character appears in the form of a rabbit belonging to Agatha, who is called Senor Scratchy. So it’s definitely only a matter of time before we see Nicholas Scratch in the MCU.

3.Wiccan

His story is a bit complicated. Basically, in the comics, Billy Kaplan is a reincarnation of Billy Maximoff, Wanda’s son. Quickly, he discovers that he is receptive to magic and becomes a powerful wizard named Wiccan. In the MCU, Wanda creates her two children from scratch using her powers. Spectators therefore meet Billy and Tommy during the events of Wanda Vision. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda travels the multiverse to track down her children. If obviously, at the end of the film, everyone goes home, Billy and Tommy will undoubtedly reappear in the MCU.

Especially since Wiccan is one of the founding members of the Young Avengers. An emblematic comic book team that is slowly starting to build itself in the MCU (Billy and Tommy Maximoff, Stature, Patriot, Kate Bishop, etc…). It is therefore logical that Wiccan will soon make its appearance. And recent rumors claim that Billy Kaplan will make his grand premiere in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

4. Voodoo Brother

Created in 1973 by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr., Jericho Drumm, aka Brother Voodoo, is a powerful wizard in the Marvel Universe. Her story begins when her brother, Daniel, is dying. To save him, Jericho Drumm turns to a powerful Haitian Voodoo sorcerer. The latter binds the soul of Jericho to that of his brother. Jericho learns the voodoo arts and becomes, at the death of his brother, the Voodoo Brother. While often working with Doctor Strange, Voodoo Brother even became, for a time, the Sorcerer Supreme in place of it, thus taking the name Doctor Voodoo.

Brother Voodoo has also helped many Marvel characters like Moon Knight, Spider-Man, and even Black Panther. And its introduction into Agatha: Coven of Chaos is totally possible.

5. Daimon and Satana Hellstrom

Although they are technically not true wizards, they use magic (and even black magic) to fight all threats from the Underworld. Created in 1973 by Roy ThomasDaimon Hellström is originally presented like the son of satan (before his story was changed). With his sister, Satana Hellström (also created in 1973), they learn black magic from the teaching of their father himself. But in the face of Satan’s bad deeds, they decide to return to the world of the living and protect the Earth from demonic invasions. A sort of Constantine in Marvel version, these two characters would bring the Christian and demonic dimension into the MCU.

Already in She-Hulk: Lawyer, Jessica Gao finally refers to this universe underemployed by Marvel Studios. Indeed, Madisynn finds herself stuck in the Underworld and makes a pact with a demon. Without knowing more. It is also rumored that Mephisto could finally appear in the series iron heart. And since Marvel Studios is therefore preparing the arrival of the world of demons in the MCU, Daimon and Satana Hellström could enter the series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Note that the two characters still had their own series in 2020: Helstrom. Daimon was played by Tom Austen and Satana (renamed Ana for the occasion) by Sydney Lemmon. But the show, which is not officially part of the MCU, was canceled after just one season. The series is nevertheless available on Disney+.

6. Doctor Strange

So yes, Doctor Strange is a magician. But doesn’t he get called The Sorcerer Supreme? Difficult to know that it will be the next appearance of Stephen Strange in the MCU. We don’t yet know what Marvel Studios has in store for us with the famous magician. But since, in the comics, Doctor Strange is often involved when it comes to magic and wizards, it could totally appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Especially now that Wanda Maximoff is out of the running. Now that The Red Witch is no more, it is up to Doctor Strange to clean up, and in particular that of the late witch.

7.Wong

As with Dr Strange, Wong is a magician. But it is also the current Sorcerer Supreme. Portrayed by Benedict Wong since the first Doctor StrangeStephen Strange’s former sidekick is in the process of gain prominence in the MCU. It’s very simple, at the moment, the character is absolutely everywhere. It adds up the appearances and becomes one of the central elements of this new phase.

Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and She-Hulk: Lawyer, Wong has 6 appearances in just 4 years. Everything therefore suggests that all this is just beginning, and that Wong will most certainly face Agatha Harkness. After all, his mission as Sorcerer Supreme obliges him to protect the world against any magical manifestation!
