The measure published in the Official bulletin establishes that, from the 12 noon, all the agents of the Buenos Aires public sector jurisdictions, agencies and entities work remotely, under the modality of home office for reduce electricity consumption in the heat wave.
In this way the Buenos Aires province adheres to the provision taken by the national government to avoid overloading the electrical system during the extreme heat wave, which resulted in thousands of people suffering from the effects of power outages. Especially in the Federal Capital, Greater Buenos Aires, the AMBA Zone, La Plata, Bahía Blanca and Mar del Plata.
Decree 2022-15, which bears the signature of Axel Kicillof, establishes “in order to reduce electricity consumption, on January 13 and 14, 2022, starting at TWELVE (12) hours, that the agents of all jurisdictions, agencies and entities of the Public Sector Provincial referred to in article 8 of Law No. 13,767 must perform the provision of services through the modality of provision of remote work, if this is possible, and will refrain from staying or attending their places usual work “.
In addition, it instructs public agencies to implement the necessary measures to maintain the minimum guards of essential services.
Likewise, the Buenos Aires governor’s decree exempts from the remote work modality the personnel dependent on:
- The Collection Agency of the Province of Buenos Aires (ARBA).
- Provincial Agency for Children and Adolescents.
- Provincial Directorate of the Property Registry of the Ministry of Finance and Finance.
- Police of the province of Buenos Aires and the Emergency Telephone Service System of the Ministry of Security.
- Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service; who works on Line 144 and in the Integral Protection Homes under the Ministry of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity.
Also exempted from the decree is the hospital staff of the Ministry of Health that is necessary for the coverage of essential services, guard and emergency and any other provision that cannot be interrupted; commissioned in the framework of “Operativo Sol 2022” and of the Provincial Directorate of Policy and Road Safety that is available for this purpose and the one who performs Road Inspection tasks.
On the other hand, it is established that the average adopted by the governor “does not reach the Banking Institutions and Financial Institutions” and in article 5 of the decree, they invite the municipalities to adhere to the measure.
The decision taken by the Buenos Aires administration seeks to avoid overloading the electrical system that resulted in power outages registered during this week that affected a large part of the territory of the Province of Buenos Aires, where the service provided by EDENOR, EDESUR, EDELAP and EDES was overloaded by the intense heat wave, leaving thousands of people without electricity, in some cases, for more than 15 hours.
