Alok reached a level never before reached by a Brazilian.
Alok was elected the 4th best DJ in the world according to the annual ranking of the renowned specialized magazine DJ Mag. The result was announced this Wednesday (13) on the magazine’s social networks. The Brazilian was only behind other big names in the electronic scene: Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and David Guetta, who secured 3rd, 2nd and 1st places respectively.
“This fourth place at DJ Mag is very important in my history and with each year of achievement I become even more aware that I would not be able to walk this far by myself. It is an achievement not only for me, but for my fans, my team and all my partners who accompany me on this journey. Very proud of this result, which makes me even more excited with the return of concerts and normality, our biggest collective dream today”, he said. Alok, in a statement.
This was an unprecedented fact for Brazilians, being the first time that a DJ from Brazil occupies such a high position in the disputed ranking. All proceeds from this award will be donated to the Covid-19 vaccination program of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef).
The campaign’s objective is to deliver two billion vaccines, a theme also embraced by the DJ Alok who frequently engages in social actions to combat the coronavirus, through the Alok Institute.
