A fire in a house in Fleury-sur-Orne

Firefighters responded to a fire in a house on the Harcourt road, in Fleury-sur-Orne, near Caen (Calvados), Thursday, November 25, 2021. (©N.C./Liberté.)

At 2:30 p.m., this Thursday, November 25, 2021, the Ifs and Folie-Couvrechef firefighters were already rewinding the hose from the fire hose. They quickly came to the end of the fire which broke out shortly after 1:30 p.m. in a residential house on the Harcourt road, on the edge of Fleury-sur-Orne and of Caen (Calvados).

At the electrical panel

Intervention group leader, Lieutenant Mickaël Richomme details:

The fire broke out on the ground floor, near the electrical panel. When we arrived, smoke was coming from the ground floor, and the occupants were already out of the house.

The damage could be reduced to 50 m2 of the ground floor, the intervention of the firefighters having made it possible to avoid the propagation of the flames on the floor.

Having caravans on their land, the owners of the home will not need to be relocated.

Disturbed traffic

The Enedis and GRDF teams were present on site, as well as the municipal police of Fleury-sur-Orne, which regulated traffic on the Harcourt road, while the firefighters intervened.
