Whole families come to take the free COVID test at the Guadalajara Center

This Friday began the third day of application of rapid tests for the detection of COVID-19 in itinerant modules of the Metropolis, as part of the state strategy in order to detect cases of the virus in a timely manner and cut contagion chains.

From before 9:00 a.m., dozens of people were trained in the module installed next to the Guadalajara City Council, to which entire families came to apply the test, as happened with the family of Juana García, who lives in the Lomas de La Primavera neighborhood in Zapopan.

She, her husband and her two daughters attended, and after a 15-minute wait the doctors confirmed that Juana and her eldest daughter had tested positive for the rapid antigen test. Her husband and youngest daughter tested negative.

“The day before I started to feel very tired and I had to leave my employer’s house where I work. She was the one who told my daughter that they were going to be here today doing the tests and that’s why we came. Thanks to the fact that they are doing these free tests, we realized, because where do we get the money to do it for the four of us, ”said Juana, who pointed out that it seems that she was infected in the house where she works; However, he did not stop coming due to the need to work and take money home.

Sergio Alfonso also went to the point accompanied by his wife and his mother, who decided to take the test against COVID-19 because his sister was hospitalized for the virus yesterday afternoon, Thursday. Of the three, only he tested positive. According to her mother, apparently her daughter, who is hospitalized, was infected in public transport.

Carolina also went to the same point with her 15-year-old son Iker, who tested positive. According to Carolina, although her son attends preparatory school at a college, she suspects that the contagion occurred during a visit to relatives over the weekend.

“Yesterday, leaving school, he started with a runny nose and I decided today not to take him to school so that, if he tested positive, the chain of infections would not grow and, unfortunately, it did come out positive. It is very good that the government has this initiative because at the beginning many people profited from it and sometimes people do not have the money to do it, ”said Carolina.

During the days 9, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 17 of September the itinerant modules will be located in the municipal capitals of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque and Tonalá, with attention from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Antigen tests are taken from people with respiratory symptoms such as fever, headache, malaise, cough, chest pain, sore throat, and / or runny nose. The participating municipalities support the logistics and dissemination of the campaign in the locality, the State Government indicated through a statement.
