Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian attacker of Real Madrid He declared that with the white club he tries “to play as if he were at home when he played in Brazil” and that with the return of the fans to the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium “it is like continuing there.”
“Everything was very perfect. We were happy to come back and know that people were with us”, expressed the Rio de Janeiro soccer player in an interview published this Tuesday by the newspaper AS in which he also spoke about his great start to the season in which he already scored four goals in the same number of LaLiga games.
“This is the product of a lot of work, many hours training in Valdebebas and of fighting to improve the definition. I have the confidence of the coach and all the technical staff, that confidence makes me think that I can fail, and if I do, I will do it again. try again”, declared the international with the Brazilian team.
The 21-year-old referred to the celebration of his goal against Celta de Vigo last Sunday, in which he jumped into the stands with the fans and has been the subject of criticism. “I got carried away a bit because it came together that it was the 3-2 goal, we had returned home after so long and I scored again. It was actually a hug to the Bernabéu in our reunion with them,” he confessed.
On Karim Benzema, Vinicius praised the French attacker and highlighted his help on the field. “He is one of the best players in history, I really like playing with him. He always talks to me on the field and off it, he helped me, even when I didn’t know if I was going to succeed,” he added.
For Vinicius, his compatriot Marcelo, who also arrived at the club in the Spanish capital at age 18, is another of his great supporters within the squad. “He always knows how to advise me when I’m good or when I’m bad. He already told me that I was going to play here for a long time like him, hopefully that is the case,” he said.
Regarding the Brazilian team, current leader of the South American qualifying round and to whom he has been summoned in recent days without being a starter, Vinicius hopes to continue raising his level to have a place in the starting eleven. “If I play to the fullest with Madrid and I play regularly it is easier to have minutes with my team, that has happened,” he said.
The one born in São Gonçalo (Rio de Janeiro) also gave his opinion about Kylian Mbappé, the French footballer for whom he offered ‘The White House’ until the last day of the transfer market. “Mbappé is a great player, I like him a lot, I’m a fan of him too. I’m sure he’s going to have a great season with PSG, we’ll see what he does with his future.”
Real Madrid is preparing to make its Champions League debut this Wednesday during its visit to Inter Milan and Vinicius hopes to continue giving joy to his fans as in recent games. “I am very grateful for the love they give me, they are always by our side. And let them know that the best is yet to come,” he concluded.
