More than 100 million pesos have been allocated to security projects in the Puerto Barrio sector of the Valparaíso commune.

During the year 2021, lhe Municipality of Valparaíso completed the installation of 62 community alarms in commercial premises that are located in the vicinity of Plaza Echaurren. In addition, the replacement of 51 public lights will begin in this area of ​​the commune.

The above is part of the project “Barrio Puerto Pedestrian Lighting “, an initiative that was paused during 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The person in charge of Citizen Security of the municipality of Valparaíso, Claudio Opazo, gave details about the works that are being carried out in the traditional Puerto de Valparaíso neighborhood.

In addition to these initiatives, there are also interventions that have been carried out by Carabineros of the Valparaíso commune. In one of these activities, Major Juan Escobar, head of the Second Central Commissioner, spoke.

The officer explained that they have had requirements for the park of the inhabitants of this sector. In this sense, the police officer gave figures regarding the work of the Carabineros in Plaza Echaurren.

Regarding the replacement of public lighting, the Municipality of Valparaíso commented that These works will be carried out in the streets Serrano, Matriz, Almirante Goñi, Almirante Gacitúa and Almirante Muñoz streets.
