Coronavirus in Argentina: 2,073 cases and 59 deaths reported in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported that this Sunday, August 29, 59 deaths and 2,073 new coronavirus infections were registered in Argentina, the lowest figure in more than a year.

According to the information provided by the COVID-19 Situation Room, since Sunday June 21, 2020, when 1,581 cases were reported, such a low daily number of infected was not recorded.

Thus, the total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic amounted to 5,173,531 in the country, and there are already 111,383 fatalities.

On the other hand, according to the official part, there are currently 2,747 people with covid-19 hospitalized in intensive care. While, to date there are 199,864 active positive cases throughout the country and 4,862,284 recovered.

What’s more, In the last 24 hours, 43,481 tests were carried out, with a positivity of 4.76%.

The latest deaths correspond to 43 men and 16 women.


Of the 2,073 new infections, 530 are from the province of Buenos Aires, 244 from the city of Buenos Aires, 103 from Catamarca, 77 from Chaco, 46 ​​from Chubut, 1 from Corrientes, 202 from Córdoba, 39 from Entre Ríos, 72 from Formosa, 43 from Jujuy, 26 from La Pampa, 46 from La Rioja, 95 from Mendoza, 96 from Misiones, 47 from Neuquén, 36 from Río Negro, 40 from Salta, 6 from San Juan, 49 from San Luis, 10 from Santa Cruz, 113 from Santa Fe, 78 from Santiago del Estero, 8 from Tierra del Fuego and 66 from Tucumán.
