Trae Young says Drake overcame JAY-Z to provoke New York fans

The Atlanta Hawks star argues that Drake bypassed JAY-Z to apparently tease Knicks fans

As Hip-Hop fans await the inevitable LeBron James videos listening to the most popular tracks from Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album, another basketball star has filled that void with a wild Drake-related twist. Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young reacted to Drake’s sixth studio album in real time, and it’s safe to say he enjoyed it a lot.

In fact, Ice Trae liked Certified Lover Boy so much that he cast a controversial opinion, claiming that Drizzy officially surpassed Jay-Z as the GOAT (Best Ever). “Hey, when are we going to say Drake passed Hov?” Trae Young asked his 1.1 million followers.

While Trae’s vision isn’t necessarily new, it’s one that has died out in recent years, as many people have decided not to compare Drake’s greatness to JAY-Z’s or have argued that Drake’s influence and commercial dominance is indeed declining.

Regardless, Trae Young’s tweet has already got fans on Twitter talking, with some users arguing that he’s too young to have a valid opinion on Jay-Z’s legacy. On a more hilarious note, a Twitter user attributed this to Trae’s apparent disdain across New York City following his standout performance in the NBA playoffs against the Knicks.
