This “fake” Knights of Ren trailer drove fans crazy

Stop everything. A strange trailer Star Wars just leaked on the networks, which would reveal a future project for Disney. However, some doubts remain, which would call into question its veracity. For their part, the fans do not hesitate to give their opinion on the networks.

The dark side of the force at the center of a project?

As spin-offs, series and films begin to pile up around the galaxy far, far away, Disney plans to release no less than 4 stamped projects this year, i.e. The Mandalorian (season 3), The Bad Batch (season 2), Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. There will be plenty to do. On the other hand, for the first, the suspension of the filming of season 3 could well delay its release.

For now, it’s the long-awaited series The Book of Boba which focuses attention. Nevertheless, it suffered a checkered start, as the quality of the first episodes was uneven.

We know that since Disney recovered the rights to the franchise, the firm stretches with more and more insurance the galaxy created by Georges Lucas. Thus, the scripting possibilities are multiple. Some fans wonder, for example, if Disney intends to capitalize on the dark side of the force (Star Wars : The Acolyte ?).

A trailer that sows doubt

Flash news: a recent and short trailer has just leaked, where we see what looks like a Sith jump, saber in hand, from his TIE fighter in the direction of an X-Wing, before destroying it. At the end of it, we can see the title of this possible spin-off displayed: Knights of Ren – A Star Wars Story, either The Knights of Ren, close guard of Kylo Ren whom we discover on screen for the first time in the 7th opus of the franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Currently, it is unknown if this trailer is authentic, or if it is a fake. If the quality of it can tip the balance in favor of the first option, several points largely call into question its authenticity.

A real fake?

Thus, several points sow widespread doubt. First of all, the referenceA Star Wars Story” is until now reserved for films and not for series (Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Thus, it would be the first series relating to the label. Well almost, since A Star Wars : A Droid Story will be the very first series mentioned. Disney would therefore provide other serial formats placed under this name.

On the other hand, it seems strange for Disney, if it is a feature film, to launch it only and in the first place on its streaming platform. Finally, Knights of Ren are usually not equipped with lightsabers, so why in this trailer? The character design in question does not match any of the Knights of Ren seen in the trilogy. Here, the antagonist in question is strangely reminiscent of Sauron.

For the moment, nothing has been communicated on this video from Disney or LucasArts. But if it’s a fake trailer, let’s admit it’s the work of a talented fan. On the networks, several Internet users have not failed to give their opinion.
