In the elementary school of the ORT school located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano, 43 cases of coronavirus were detected in the last week and the authorities are investigating whether it is the Delta variant, much more contagious.
The establishment, which is attended by about 500 primary school students, isolated the different bubbles and this Friday sent an internal communication to the educational community to alert of the situation.
“We are getting in touch to inform you that 43 positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected among our students at the Belgrano campus -Primary Level-, whose bubbles are isolated from the confirmation of the results”, indicates the text sent for mail.
“The Ministers of Health and Education of the City are aware of the situation and ordered the follow-up of cases to determine the traceability of infections and the analysis of possible variants and the protocols to follow, according to current regulations”, keep going.
According to the indications issued by the General Directorate of Private Management Education, “and continuing with the measures for the care of our entire educational community”, the students whose course has had an indication of isolation due to the confirmation of a positive case, must present a PCR test with a negative result and medical discharge to return to face-to-face classes.
The ORT management recalled, in its statement, that “only those who have met the established requirements may enter the school.”
For their part, spokesmen for the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health told Télam this afternoon that “the type of strain variant could not yet be identified” and that, although “studies of variants have already been sent, the ANLIS Institute- Malbrán has not yet given the results. “
