The Court of Appeals of Valdivia of the Los Ríos region, confirmed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for Aída Martínez Tiznado, charged by the Public Ministry as the author of a parricide perpetrated last May, in the commune of Panguipulli.

In a unanimous ruling, the First Chamber of the court of appeal did not give rise to the appeal deducted by the defense against the resolution of the Court of Guarantee of the city, which ordered to keep Martínez in preventive detention, rejecting a precautionary measure for a minor intensity.

According to the local prosecutor’s office, at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, Armando Erices Belmar was in the house he shared with his wife, the accused Aída Martínez. In this context, for reasons that are being investigated, the couple would have had a strong argument.

After the fact, the accused took a kitchen knife with which he attacked his spouse and caused a penetrating wound in the left abdominal area, an injury that caused his death.
