The film based on the series “Peaky Blinders” will begin shooting in 2023

The hit series Peaky Blinders, starring Cillian Murphy and whose sixth will be seen next year, will mark the end of the story set at the beginning of the 20th century of the Irish mobsters commanded by Thomas Shelby but will have its film version in 2023.

Steven Knight, creator of the series, has announced that he will shortly begin work on the script with a view to starting filming in 2023. It was Knight himself, who announced months ago that Peaky Blinders will end with a film.

“The movie will be set and shot in Birmingham. And that will probably be the end of the road Peaky Blinders as we know it now, “Knight said in statements to the magazine. Variety in which he once again suggested that there might be other “series related” to the Peaky Blinders universe in the future.

After the premiere of the fifth season in 2019, the filming of the next installment was delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic. It is also unknown whether Helen McCrory, who passed away in April, had filmed any scenes for the final season or not.

Although there is no confirmed release date yet, the sixth and final season of the series is scheduled for the first half of next year.
