Jeep is developing an all-new model. It was announced last March, when Stellantis presented its “Dare Forward 2030” strategic plan. Today, and before its release, we have the right to some spy photos of this model, which will be launched at the end of 2022 and which will position itself below the Jeep Renegade.
Although the prototype is heavily camouflaged, one can – with a lot of imagination – guess the cubic shapes of this Jeep. The baby Jeep, as the Americans call it, has small front lights that hook into the seven-slot grille. In the lower part, you can see two air intakes, rounded wheel arches on each side of the body and rear door handles integrated into the C-pillar.
Of course, the design of this Jeep will differ from version to version. According to the latest information, thermal and electrified engines are planned for launch. Next year, a 100% electric version could also point the tip of his nose.
This Jeep sits on the platform CPM which can also be found under the bodies of the Peugeot 2008, DS 3 Crossback and Opel Mokka. Everything suggests that the baby Jeep will have the same engines, namely a 1.2 Turbo petrol engine developing 101 to 156 hp. It could also be offered with a 1.5 diesel engine developing 110 and 131 hp and a 136 hp electric version equipped with a 50 kWh battery. In the latter case, the range would be around 340 km.
Production of this model – which does not yet bear a name – will begin in the coming months at the Tychy plant in Poland. This plant will soon produce the new Fiat 500X and Alfa Romeo Brennero, Tonale’s little brother. If you can’t wait to discover this novelty, know that it has already been shown by Jeep in its electric version. The style of the baby Jeep now has no secrets for you.
