Studio working on Batman VR game development [RUMOR]

Iron Man VR developer would be responsible for game production

The studio responsible for developing Iron Man VR, Camouflaj would be working to launch a Batman virtual reality game. Information about the possible new title of hero was obtained through insider Janko Roettgers, who had access to court documents from the Federal Trade Commission of the United States this week.

Meta told the outlet that it was something the company considered highly confidential.

The documents point out that Batman VR would be being produced for Meta Quest VR headsets. However, despite all the information having been sent to the Federal Trade Commission of the United States, neither Camouflag nor Meta came to comment on the possibility of a new hero game being in development.

Shortly after the digitized version of the document was made public, Meta sent a response to the commission referring to some information that was present there. That’s because they claimed that the development of Batman VR, as well as other details released, were considered “highly confidential”.

“The FTC accidentally spilled the beans on Camouflaj, a game studio Meta acquired in September developing a Batman VR game for Quest. It didn’t say that yesterday, but the FTC later asked the court to redact that leak because Meta told the outlet that it was something the company considered highly confidential,” the insider said.

Game wouldn’t be Batman’s first for VR

The possibility of a Batman game for virtual reality being developed is not new for one of the most beloved heroes in the world of comics. Currently, Batman Arkham VR is one of the games of its genre that has been available to players since 2017. It is available for both PlayStation 4 and PC.

On Steam, reviews for the game are mixed. With more than 1,200 user reviews, the game has positives and negatives for the community, not reaching unanimity. Either way, it did enough to get the attention of the industry and receive three award nominations. It was nominated for The Best VR Game at The Game Awards, as well as British Game and Innovation nominations at the BAFTA Video Games.
