Pornhub CEO resigns after allegations of child porn hosting

The MindGeek company best known for operating pornhubsaid CEO Feras Antoon and COO David Tassillo have resigned after a series of New Yorker magazine articles uncovered child pornography and non-consensual sex videos on the XXX site.

In a statement to Variety, a company representative said: “Antoon and Tassillo are leaving MindGeek’s day-to-day operations after more than a decade in leadership positions with the company. With the company strategically positioned for long-term growth, MindGeek’s executive leadership team will run day-to-day operations on an interim basis, with an ongoing search for replacements.” The representative added that the leadership transition has been in the works since early 2022. Antoon and Tassillo will remain shareholders of MindGeek.

The main problem was that the new yorker magazine wrote an article arguing that, “pornhub has hosted sexually explicit non-consensual videos, including those featuring children, for years. MindGeek’s policies say that videos on its site are screened to ensure they don’t feature minors and also to verify that the videos have been shared with the consent of the people who appear in them. However, the New Yorker interviewed several women who discovered videos and photos of themselves on Pornhub that they did not consent to share, and who spent months trying to get the site to remove the material.

Pornhub, along with other platforms operated by MindGeek such as YouPorn, reach 150 million daily visitors, according to the company.
