No car manufacturer will be able to escape electrification in Europe. Not even Lamborghini, which in addition to preparing its first 100% electric car, will soon launch only electrified cars. Rest assured, Mitja Borkert (Design Director of Lamborghini) said that the stylistic direction will not change.
“They will always look like spaceships, always be inspiring, always cars that, whatever technology they have, will have the sound and the emotion to touch you”Mitja Borkert told Autocar.
Lamborghini’s electrified models will not look like the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, however. Produced in a limited series, this car stands out from the crowd and is inspired by the Terzo Millennio concept presented in 2017. The Sian FKP 37 is certainly an electrified model thanks to the supercapacitors. However, the next Lamborghinis will have a more conventional hybrid configuration and less radical styling.
The switch to electric also allows designers to be more free. Indeed, the absence of certain elements inherent to thermal cars opens up design possibilities. Mitja Borkert indicated that he could, for example, use the space normally dedicated to the exhaust pipe to “use aerodynamics in a very cool way”.
Lamborghini has said in the past that 100% of its cars will be electrified from 2024. It also confirmed that its first electric car will arrive in 2028, and it will be shaped like a 2+2 car. It will be followed by the second generation of the Lamborghini Urus.
While waiting to discover all these new features, Lamborghini has registered the name Revuelto. We do not know at the moment what this corresponds to. It could be the name of the battery-powered Lamborghini, but this has not yet been confirmed by the Italian manufacturer. We also recall that the brand with the bull is finalizing the development of the replacement for the Aventador, and that it has already been seen by spy photographers.
