In our demanding battery online runtime test, the OnePlus 10T 5G lasted for 12 hours and 3 minutes – a strong value. We set the display to 200 candelas per square meter, which is suitable for indoor use, and let a script continuously browse the web and play videos.
From a physical point of view, such a charging time is no fun for the individual lithium cells. The battery could therefore have a slightly shorter lifespan compared to the competition. However, OnePlus still assumes a battery capacity of 80 percent after 1,600 charging cycles, which corresponds to about four years. This is made possible by a “smart” algorithm that keeps an eye on the current maximum charging capacity of the individual cells. In the event of an impending overload, the system then regulates the charging power down. In addition, a kind of “self-healing” should reduce the damage to the anode and cathode.
If you don’t want to trust these marketing promises, you can also create an individual charging plan in the corresponding settings menu – or simply switch off the fast charging function completely. Wireless charging is not possible with the OnePlus 10T 5G.
