VfL announced the signing of the winger on Thursday. The Englishman is moving from the Gunners to Bochum on a free transfer and has signed a contract until 2025.

Osei-Tutu was last loaned to the English third division club Rotherham United and rose to the championship with the club. During the 2019/20 season he played for VfL Bochum on loan, scoring five goals in 21 second division games. He can also be used as a full-back, but at VfL he knew how to please more in the offensive role.

Memories “still very present”

“We know Jordi Osei-Tutu very well, the memories of his skills and strengths are still very present,” said Sebastian Schindzielorz, sporting director at VfL. “We continued to watch him after his season at VfL and followed his development. Jordi has matured further, his potential is still enormous. We are optimistic that he will make the leap to the Bundesliga.”

Osei-Tutu himself was “happy to be back in Bochum and at VfL” after the last few years had been “a bit more difficult for me”. “The Bundesliga will be a new challenge.”
