McLaren, Ricciardo again in Q3: “I could have done better”

Daniel Ricciardo seems to be getting more and more familiar with the car. The McLaren Australian finished qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix in ninth position, and will therefore start from the fifth row in the race. Once again the driver from Perth finished ahead of his teammate, who however had problems with his car. It doesn’t matter to Daniel, who seems to be slowly regaining the enamel that seemed definitively lost a few weeks ago.

“When you enter Q3 and start ninth, part of me thinks I could have done better – Ricciardo admitted. When the track dried we lost a bit of advantage: strangely I felt more competitive in the wet, while on a wet track I struggled to lean on the tire. Having said that, I think it has been a positive weekend so far, we are in the right direction. I hope to put together all the points in the race and finish the weekend at the best: maybe there are some cars out of position, you never know how this can affect the race. Up front we have potentially slower cars, and others behind faster like Charles and Sergio, so it will be an interesting race ”.
