Maria Eduarda Casagrande was the Brazilian highlight on the penultimate day of the Junior Taekwondo World Cup, this Saturday (6th), in Sofia, Bulgaria. Competing in the under-63kg category, she won two matches and was defeated in the round of 16 by South Korean Bae Dahee. Nicolas Precinato (73kg) and Nardinelo Rodrigues (78kg) also competed on the day, but lost in the first round.

Among the other Brazilians on the day, Nardileno Rodrigues even beat Moldovan Nicolai Elenin in the first round (15-7). However, he was defeated in the following two, 15 to 8 and 17 to 4. Thus, he was eliminated in the first round of the under-78kg category. Nicolas Precinato lost to Muhammed Akbabaoz (no flag) in two rounds, with partials from 14 to 12 and 8 to 8, in the under-73kg category.

Brazil at the World Cup

The Junior World Taekwondo will end this Sunday (07). Three more Brazilians will come into action: Yasmin Assíria (68kg), Ana Beatriz Marrega (+68kg) and Bryan Erkmann (+78kg). It is worth noting that Brazil took 17 athletes to the competition. Until now, the country had the best results in the quarterfinals of Clara Simplício (42kg) and Enzo Paludo (59kg).
