Seeds number 4, Marcelo Melo and Raven Klaasen had a solid game in the semifinals. After a lot of balance in the first set, they managed to break the opponent’s serve in the final stretch, jumping ahead in 5 to 3. Then they confirmed the service and closed the partial in 6 to 3. The second set had a very similar tone and the Brazilian and the South African broke the serve of their opponents once again in the final stretch, scoring a new 6-3.

The Brazilian-South African duo now has three wins in three games at the ATP 250 in Los Cabos. The partnership reaches the final without losing a set, having won all the games by 2 to 0. Bia Haddad and Laticha quit

Another Brazilian tennis player who would see action in doubles tournaments was Bia Haddad Maia. Along with Taiwanese Latisha Chan, she would play against China’s Yang Zhaoxuan/Yu Yifan for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 in San Jose, United States. However, Bia’s duo withdrew from the competition. The reason is still unclear. The Brazilian is confirmed for the WTA 1000 in Toronto, which starts next week.
