Luiz Francisco Azevedo wins show jumping in Belgium

Brazil achieved good results at the Opglabbek International, a four-star show jumping tournament held in Belgium this Friday (17th). Luiz Francisco Azevedo won two races, while Camila Mazza and Luiz Felipe Gonçalves managed to stay among the top 10.

Luiz Francisco Azevedo’s first victory came in a two-phase bow with obstacles at 1.40m high and the participation of 29 teams. Riding Falbert SB, the Brazilian took first place after clearing the course in both stages of the race. Karina Johannpeter (riding Finally Z) and Francisco Musa (riding Miss Sarajevo) placed 18th and 19th, respectively, committing four faults in the second phase of the race.

Luiz’s second title this Friday came in another two-phase event, but this time with obstacles at 1.45m from the ground. Riding Nashville, Luiz Francisco Azevedo again cleared the course in both passes to take first place among 69 sets. Luiz Felipe Gonçalves was seventh in the race, riding Hoselinde. He also zeroed the course, but was four seconds off the podium. Brazil also had Francisco Musa in the top-20, with a 17th place riding Jivaro Imperio Egípcio.


Camila Mazza got a fifth place in a two-phase event with obstacles at 1.35m high. The Brazilian rode LG Carlotta, managing to clear the course in both passes. In the last one, she had a time of 30.73, being just two seconds behind the Greek Ioli Mytilleniou who won the dispute. André Américo was 12th in the race riding Uruguay Courcelle.
