Jady Malavazzi wins another bronze at the Paracycling World Cup

Jady Malavazzi won the bronze medal in the road race at the Canadian Paracycling World Cup, held this Saturday (6) in Quebec City, Canada. The paranaense finished the race with 1h49min41s, behind the Italian Francesca Porcellato (1h48min21s) and the German Annika Zeyen (1h48min16s).

Jady Malavazzi lost movement in his legs at the age of 13 after a car accident. Soon after his recovery, he started playing basketball. She migrated to paracycling in 2011 and since then has been one of the Brazilian highlights in handbike.

In this stage of the Paracycling World Cup, Jady Malavazzi won two bronze medals. On Thursday (4), the first day of disputes, she finished the time trial in third place. Brazil already has four bronze medals: Lauro Chaman and Carlos Alberto in the time trial, and Jady’s two laurels.

Also this Saturday, Brazilians Antônio Marcos de Moura and Ronan Cordeiro, from the H5 class, competed in the road race. They finished in eighth and tenth place, respectively. While in the H2 class, Marcos Antônio Ferreira and Dave Raposo finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively.

This is the second most important competition within the International Cycling Federation (UCI) calendar. The scores obtained in the tournament will be validated for the first allocation of places for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
