After Dennis Borkowski returned from his one-and-a-half-year loan to 1. FC N├╝rnberg, the parent club Leipzig once again lent him to a lower-class team. The 20-year-old striker is expected to gain match practice at third-division Dynamo Dresden. Borkowski himself is looking forward to the “unique atmosphere in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium” and the “great identification that prevails in the region with Dynamo”.

Dresden’s sports director Ralf Becker is happy about a “versatile attacker who has very good technical training and can quickly solve situations in tight spaces”. Borkowski took his first steps in professional football in Nuremberg and has a lot of potential for development. “We are convinced that he will make our offensive game even more variable and unpredictable.”

For the young Leipzig striker, it’s a step back closer to home: “I’m really happy about the chance to develop my football skills at Dynamo Dresden – which is very close to my hometown of Riesa.” Regarding the negotiations with the Dresdeners, he said: “The talks with those responsible at SGD were very positive, I can fully identify with the sporting goals. I would like to do my part to ensure that we as a team in the 3rd division are as successful as we are possible are.”

The loan is for one year, and Borkowski will return to Leipzig in the summer of 2023.
