Berlin defeated SC DHfK Leipzig in the home Max-Schmeling-Halle with 34:25 (17:12) and drew level with third-placed SG Flensburg-Handewitt (both 46:12) on points. Both teams are two points behind record champions THW Kiel (48:10). The undisputed leader SC Magdeburg has already rushed with 52:4 points.

In Berlin, the foxes were dominant from the start and never fell behind in front of 7226 fans. Little by little, the favorites, led by the outstanding duo of Milos Vujovic (8 goals) and Mijajlo Marsenic (7), extended their lead. In the end, the 21st win of the season was never in danger. At SC, Luca Witzke (6) scored the best.

Minden makes up ground in the relegation battle

Meanwhile, GWD Minden has at least temporarily left the relegation zone with its fifth away win of the season. The East Westphalians celebrated a 26:25 (12:12) win over their rivals Bergischer HC and pushed past the game community HBW Balingen-Weilstetten (both 15:45) on 16th place.

Things got tight for Minden in the closing stages. After ex-national player Christian Zeitz missed the great opportunity to increase to 27:25 in the penultimate minute, GWD keeper Malte Semisch secured the victory for the guests with a save 37 seconds before the end. Mohamed Darmoul was the winner’s best shooter with seven goals, David Schmidt (6) scored best for the BHC.
