Carlo Sickinger (24) stays in Elversberg: As the promoted team in the third division announced on Thursday, the previous loan from SV Sandhausen has signed a contract until June 30, 2024.
Remains in Elversberg: Carlo Sickinger.
“Carlo has distinguished himself as an important player in our squad over the past six months. He has integrated well into the team from day one. With his technical skills, his clear style of play and his speed of action, he was an asset and accordingly made a big contribution in the overall success of last season. That’s why we’re very happy that he’s staying with us,” SVE sports director Ole Book is quoted as saying on the Elversberger website.
Sickinger played on loan for Elversberg last season and made 14 appearances in the Regionalliga Südwest. At the end of the season he was allowed to celebrate promotion to the 3rd division with the sports association – and will start in this league after his permanent move with the newly promoted team. Before that, he hadn’t really had a chance in Sandhausen and had only played six times in the 2nd Bundesliga in the first half of the season.
“Half a year ago, the path to Elversberg turned out to be absolutely the right one for me. I felt comfortable here personally and in terms of sport and achieved all the goals we had set ourselves with the team. It was clear to me that I too wants to remain part of this team. I’m looking forward to the new third division season at SVE and that the path will continue for me here,” said the midfielder, who played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern between 2012 and 2021.
