Brazil secured seven more podiums at the Slovenian Paralympic Table Tennis Open this Friday (13th). In the doubles disputes, the country won bronzes with Joyce de Oliveira/Lucas Arabian (class 10), Marliane Amaral/Jenson van Emburgh (7) and Guilherme Costa/Cátia Oliveira (4), in the mixed, and with Cátia Oliveira/Marliane Oliveira (5) and Guilherme Costa Iranildo Conceição (4). Jennyfer Parinos/Danielle Rauen (20) and Paulo Salmin/Israel Stroh (14) reached the finals.

Jennyfer Parinos/Danielle Rauen guaranteed themselves in the final of class 20. They needed to win three duels on the day, two in the group stage, over Alzate/Ravi, by 3 to 1 (11/13, 11/4, 11/1 and 11 /17), and over Hungarian Szvitacs/Bicsak 3-0 (13/11, 11/7 and 11/2), which secured them first in the bracket. The third was in the semi, against Tepelea/Munoz, with a victory by 3 sets to 0 (11/8, 11/3, 11/9).
Paulo Salmin/Israel Stroh reached the final of class 14 by winning four games this Friday. First, they passed the Japanese Kita/Yagi 3-0 (11/4, 11/7 and 11/9). Then they only won 3-1. They beat the Polish Deigsler/Chudzcki on 9/11, 11/7, 6/11 and 7/11. They then beat Bayley/Wollmert on 9/11, 7/11, 11/4, and 7/11. In the semi, they beat the Spaniards Valera/Morales with 7/11, 11/9, 11/6 and 15/13.
Cátia Oliveira secured her third medal in the competition. In the semifinals of the individual tournament, she won two bronzes this Friday. With Guilherme Costa, she lost in the semi of class 4 in mixed doubles, to the Koreans Park/Seo, by 3 to 0 (11/7, 11/8 and 11/6). Then, he joined Marliane Amaral, in the women’s doubles, having won two games and lost in the semi again to South Koreans: Seo/Lee, by 3 to 0 (11/5, 15/13 and 11/6).
Guilherme Costa and Marliane Amaral also won a bronze in addition to the partnership with Cátia. Guilherme joined Iranildo Conceição to win the medal in class 4. They won three duels on the day and lost in the semi to the French Michaud/Lamirault by 3 to 0 (11/5, 11/7, 11/8). Marliane, along with American Jenson van Emburgh, won a game and fell in the semi, to Kim/Yoon (9/11, 11/7, 11/7 and 11/5).
Finally, Lucas Arabian and Joyce de Oliveira had the same trajectory: they won a game on the day and lost in the semifinals, to Savant-Aira/Muzinic, by 3-0 (11/11, 11/4 and 11/8).
Eliminated without medal
Aloisio Lima/Conrado Contessi lost to Crossara/Lim and fell in the group stage of class 4. Claudio Massad and his Slovakian partner Richard Csejtey fell in the round of 18 of class 18 after losing to the Spaniards Cepas/Perez. Joyce de Oliveira and Turkish partner Hatice Duman stopped in the group stage of class 10.

The doubles and singles finals take place this Saturday (14), the last day of disputes at the Slovenian Paralympic Open table tennis. In addition to this Saturday’s five bronze medals, Brazil has four individual semifinalists and two doubles finalists, thus having 11 medals guaranteed.
