Brazil Loterias Caixa Trophy brings together 770 athletes from 131 clubs

The Brazil Athletics Trophy, which will begin this Wednesday, at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium, received the registration of 770 athletes from 131 clubs, representing 22 states and the Federal District. The main club competition in Latin America will be the last national event to obtain the required indexes for the Oregon World Championship, in the United States, from July 15th to 24th.

Among those registered by their clubs, many representatives of Brazil in the Tokyo Olympic Games, such as Tatiane Raquel da Silva (IPEC-PR) in the 3000m hurdles, Ketiley Batista (ASPMP-SP) in the 100m hurdles, Eduardo de Deus (CT Maranhão-MA) and Rafael Pereira (Clã Delfos-MG) in the 110m hurdles and Caio Bonfim (CASO-DF) in the 20,000m race walk, among many others.

“I had a good season in Europe, with a South American record and index for the World Cup”, said Tatiane, referring to the mark of 9:24.38, obtained on June 12, in Watford, in the 3,000m hurdles. “Could not be better. The biggest difficulty is being away from the family for so long, but, thank God, it was all worth it,” said Tatiane, 10-time champion of the Brazil Trophy in the event, which will also compete in the 1,500m.

The Brazil Trophy will open this Wednesday, with the women’s 20,000m race walking at 7 am (Brasília time) and men’s at 7:10 am, on the outer track of the Olympic Stadium, with free access to the public.
