As happened in the game against Ecuador in the debut, Brazil played a controlled game against Uruguay. The team started ahead in the first period and increased the advantage throughout the match, until closing with a difference of nine points. The moment of greatest balance was in the second quarter, when the Uruguayan team took the lead by 25-22.

Sther Ubaka was the game’s top scorer, with 16 points and 16 rebounds. It was her second double-double in the competition after posting 11 points and 22 rebounds on her debut. Sara Martins scored 12 points, while Micaela Cavalcanti scored 11. On the Uruguayan side, Milagros Ferreira scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The team is already guaranteed in the semifinals, as well as Colombia, which also won its first two games. The last round will be precisely a clash between Brazil and Colombia, worth the leadership of the group. The game will take place on Friday at 3pm.
