Alfa Romeo and Valtteri Bottas are, so far, some of the positive notes of the season. The growth of the Biscione team, in this new era of Formula 1 characterized by regulatory changes, also passed through the improvements made to the simulator as the Finn himself stated.
Bottas, who has embraced the cause of Hinwil after a five-year period in Mercedes, has in fact admitted that the simulator given to the Italian-Swiss team has improved since its debut but some progress can still be made on the development front.
“From the first time I tried it it has improved enormously compared to now – stated Bottas, quoted by RacingNews365 – Already this year, especially in the last two races, a really useful tool as a support for the weekend. There is always a driver at the factory during the race weekend doing set-up and correlation tests. There has been rapid progress on this is already a great tool. There are still improvements to be made. Obviously I made my contribution based on my experience and I’m sure this helped too. In Miami it was really very useful to know the track and try some different wing configurations or levels, before coming here we had an idea“.
